Many women fly while pregnant and have no difficulties. If you are pregnant and intend to fly it is important that you discuss your travel plans with your doctor before you fly – particularly during the later stages of pregnancy.
Different airline companies seem to have similar recommendations and ‘rules’. Most airlines after 28 weeks, require you to carry a letter from a registered medical practitioner or registered midwife confirming:
the estimated date of delivery;
whether it is a single or multiple pregnancy;
that the pregnancy is a routine pregnancy and that there are no complications with the pregnancy.
