A recent study in “Maturitas” 2018 showed low Vitamin D levels are associated with higher triglycerides and low high density lipoproteins (LDL cholesterols) and with high insulin levels in postmenopausal women. Being outdoors allows Vitamin D absorption. It may be that in this group of postmenopausal women, Vitamin D supplementation has a role in improving cardiovascular health.
