The April edition of the 2018 Australian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, studied the use of intravenous iron infusions in pregnant women with iron deficiency anaemia who were unable to tolerate iron. This has shown to be generally a safe procedure and is a good treatment for anaemia for women who are unable to tolerate iron. This is another reassuring step forward.
